Mint is a Caster affiliated with the Victorian Institution for Higher Studies, specializing in geology, frequently participating in investigative field projects. She contracted Oripathy on an expedition and was referred by Operator Skyfire to Rhodes Island for consultation.
She currently receives treatment at Rhodes Island while assisting with Originium research, environmental and geological observation, and related services.
Imaging tests have shown the outlines of her internal organs to be indistinct due to abnormal shadows. Originium granules have been detected in her circulatory system, confirming her to be infected with Oripathy.

[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 4%
Small traces of infection visible on surface of body. Severity of condition is mild and notably stable.

Operator Mint often works deep within danger zones. Despite strict safety measures, risk of aggravation remains present. We recommend she receives regular checkups.
With her backgroundin the Victorian Institution for Higher Studies, and being introduced to Rhodes Island by Operator Skyfire, many Operators who had not yet met Mint could not help but have certain preconceptions about her.
Regardless, once they met the new Victorian for themselves, they quickly realized she was not an elite in the vein of Operator Skyfire. This isn't to say Operator Mint isn't outstanding; rather, she and Skyfire are two completely separate sorts. She looks quiet and proper at first glance, but in truth she bursts with a curious spirit and a lively step. Compared to her senior Skyfire, a cream-of-the-crop Caster who gained her qualifications from school and promptly graduated, Mint values her research in geological fields much more.
It's no surprise that when the time came to decide where she wanted to go, Mint chose to stick around and further her studies, continuing her pursuit of cutting-edge geological research. It was on such a pivotal field investigation that she came to contract Oripathy.
The new Feline girl has a book that'll bite you.
Once Mint came to Rhodes Island, the rumor swiftly followed, spreading like wildfire amongst the younger Operators.
Mint does indeed hold an Arts unit, one fashioned into the form of a book, that together with her staff helps her to make full, free use of her Originium Arts. Mint usually has the 'book' bound with a specially made tie, so as not to cause any accidents. It's as the rumors say—the book will bite people. If someone randomly flips its pages, they'll very likely set off its built-in retaliative mechanisms. It won't cause any life-threatening harm, but according to Mint, 'Its bites hurt so much. It's even worse than stubbing your little toe.'
Mint says she happened upon the book at an old marketplace near school, where all the shops sold old books and worn knick-knacks that had probably traded hands countless times, and where no shortage of questionably-legal goods moved around under wraps.
'Don't go in there expecting anything. People who treat it as one great treasure hunt by and large end up buying complete useless rubbish, ' stated Operator Skyfire on this topic. 'If you honest-to-God know how to find something nice, you'll find it. If you can't see a thing's true worth, tough. That's the only way. '
Operator Mint's sense of curiosity is extremely strong.
Most Institution scholars have passion to embrace as they seek the verities of their matters, and Mint is no exception. Though most of the time she comes off simply as polite and sweet, Mint's natural-born curiosity and hunger for knowledge is impossible to hide, and it didn't take long to show once she arrived at Rhodes Island.
She spent the first couple of days 'exploring' most areas of the ship provided to Operators, before selecting a few lesser trodden places to act as her own secret bases. She's taken to life at Rhodes Island very quickly.
However, her wildly scattering curiosity has definitely invited trouble at times.
One thing that worries people is while doing something, Mint is distractable. Of course, this isn't to say she has no sense of priority. When a directly pressing matter is at hand, Mint focuses and spares no detail until it's done, but the moment the most critical part is finished, she loosens up, and it's then that something else can easily steal her attention.
For example, after a mission, she might be lured away by some novel ore or Originium-infected creature, and will wander off from her team without realizing it until she's lost in the dead of the wilderness... That has happened more than once.
And if this continues without any mediation or regulation, we fear that Operator Skyfire, who already loses her temper whenever it happens, will sooner or later burn the ship out from the inside.
Mint doesn't seem to be too bothered by her own Oripathy.
Her infection was completely unforeseen. At the time, a group of scholars had made due preparations and entered a deep fault left by a Catastrophe. Exploration there went without a hitch—only as they withdrew, the ground beneath Mint's footing subsided, and the rest is history.
Mint herself cares less about her illness, a lost cause as it is, and much more about if she's obtained some good samples for experimentation, or whether she's onto any breakthrough discoveries. Those are what really matter to her.
After all, geological research has always been part and parcel of all sorts of dangerous environments. No matter the stringent safety measures, no one can guarantee an accident will never occur. Mint and all the researchers with her were all aware of this. It was with a fundamental understanding of the risk that they made their choices.
Operator Mint has never once been regretful.
Mint likes hiding in her secret bases and reading in silence, and she likes fooling around together with her friends. She likes to climb trees. She likes adventures. She likes every last new and novel thing.
She might tiptoe as she follows behind her friends, and she might suddenly get distracted by something and go bounding off instead.
Should you ever receive a small present from her, be it as little as a misshapen piece of ore with mud still stuck to it, take it. Accept it. Without a doubt, it's something she's fond of, and regardless of how, she'd like for you to share in it too.

The forty-second time Mint wanders off is the time she resolves, as other operators keep telling her, to train herself to stay focused.
After picking up more than a few items from the flea market, her training commences.
-METRONOME. The shop says Leithanians use this little tool when beginning to learn music, in order to help them grasp tempo. But conversely, '100 Ways to Up Your Concentration' says having a regular sound playing helps focus your attention, as people will map out the thoughts in their head to the rhythm, thus untangling their logic. 'Tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, pebbles, twigs, outside, everywhere, pretty, favorite, I want to look, I'll look right now...'
-SOUND BATH. 'Bathed in pure, long, and gentle tones, you will come to find serenity, and concentrate upon the self.' '*ding*—' It... sounds like Pramanix's bell, it's so reassuring... I wonder if this was from Kjerag too? I remember there was a holy mountain there, since Cliffheart's told me heaps about the place. I'd like to visit too one day, sooner or later—I'm sure there'd be so much geological knowledge to pick up on! The Black Flow's on the bucket list too. Maybe I should consult Asbestos about it beforehand? That door she has looks so hefty...
-ATTENTION SPAN TRAINING CARDS. This one's a present from Skyfire after she heard I was starting attention training. 'Suitable for children ages 3-5. WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD.' Why did she buy me this?
-BANDAGES FOR WHEN A BOOK BITES. These aren't to do with attention training, I simply saw them on the table just now and put them in here with everything else, hehe.
-PEBBLE. Saga told me that to concentrate on but one thing before thee, one item, be it even the most mundane and unremarkable stone, would settle thee down, and see that thou wouldst ponder the primitive and true. She led me through some meditation, to focus my attention, but eventually... the natto gohan was just too tasty to resist.
Then comes the forty-third time she's wandered off. Her attention training is declared a failure, and consequently her journaling ends there. The final item noted is a fire extinguisher.
-FIRE EXTINGUISHER. I put out the flames that started from Skyfire flaring up. I think... I think it's better than any other tool at addressing the most frightening consequences of being unfocused...
Ohh... but still, I have to make a proper apology...
