Brigid, a nomad. Said to be from one of Tara's ancient wandering tribes, who have lived on the plains and hills since time immemorial. They also serve as traditional couriers for Catastrophe warnings, mail, and other related tasks. At Operator Reed's recommendation, she has started working with Rhodes Island, receiving Oripathy treatment while taking part in battle as a sniper operator.
Imaging tests show the indistinct outlines of internal organs, obscured by abnormal shadows. Originium granules detected in the circulatory system. The subject is confirmed to be infected with Oripathy.

'She's certainly very healthy. Even if she hadn't turned around, lifted up her shirt, and pointed out the crystals to me on her own, based on her blood test results, she's in better condition than most Catastrophe Messengers I've checked over before. Maybe those Taran nomadic tribes have some sort of special method to protect themselves? ...What's that? She just follows along whenever the burdenbeasts migrate? That works?'

Operator Brigid was born in the plains of southern Victoria. As a member of one of the few nomadic tribes there, she knows many legends and stories that modern Taran city-dwellers are unfamiliar with. Once she became an adult, she split from her tribe and became a solitary drifter until a series of localized conflicts broke out between Tara and its neighbors. During this period of unrest, she continued her nomadic lifestyle, taking on work that involved warning people about Catastrophes and delivering messages, relying on her plentiful experience with wilderness survival and long-distance travel to do so.
We are unsure how she balances all this traveling for work with her personal life. Maybe it's as she says: her life is an 'endless road'. This does match the first impression she usually gives: cheerful, uncomplicated, and hyperactive.
[Addendum]
As per protocol, we were required to sit down with her for a serious conversation, and to our surprise we learned another side of the Na Saoirsí incident, as seen through her eyes. When we asked for her personal understanding of the matter, she had this to say:
'Those who can see the flames in others' hearts can also share some of their own soul's fire.'
We had no idea what to make of this, especially as a response to our question, until she explained further.
According to her, in the tribes' distant past, this ability protected their people from the dangers of the wilds and the darkness, but such flames also burn away at their wielder's life. As such, those who disregard the cost and freely give away their flame often run into hardships, and never have happy endings of their own. Even so, the people still choose to place great expectations on those with this extraordinary ability, and hold them in the highest esteem. The authority and prestige held by the Red Dragon stem from this respect.
This clearly does not match our understanding of how political power takes shape in modern society, and we can only surmise that it is a folk tale passed down orally among Tara's nomadic tribes. However, if we consider that ability a form of Originium Arts, and compare it to a tradition from another obscure Taran community Brigid once mentioned—the 'wakemen' and their 'fire-returning ceremony'—it is not difficult to see the similarities. Because of this, we lean towards considering the legend an attempted explanation of the wakemen's Arts, rather than historical evidence of any kind of Victorian regime change.
That might be where it comes from, but it's not how the legend goes! The Red Dragon gave away her fire, and if she don't get it back, she'll die. Simple as.

According to our background checks, Brigid left the city and returned to the plains following the Na Saoirsí incident. While she is currently a Rhodes Island operator, she is often away on field work, and never stays on the landship for long. Thus, we recommend inquiring into her whereabouts when necessary, but there is no need to actively track her.

The Catastrophe Messengers Rhodes Island often works with have never met a 'colleague' quite like Brigid before.
First of all, it must be noted that, contrary to what you might think, Catastrophe Messengers generally do not engage in the routine letter and parcel deliveries that standard Messengers do. They are mainly dedicated to delivering Catastrophe warnings, and use unique methods of intel sharing and transmitting among themselves in order to be ready to handle any unexpected occurrences. In that sense, it is difficult to see Brigid working by herself in Tara as anything more than an ordinary Messenger handling mail or war orders.
It took a follow-up investigation for us to understand more. Traditional methods for forecasting Catastrophes have been passed down in Brigid's tribe for generations. When she set out on her own, it was these techniques that allowed her to aid isolated nomadic cities that actual Catastrophe Messengers were unable to help find shelter.
According to her, it was a friend's suggestion that prompted her to call herself a 'Catastrophe Messenger' when she registered with us. She does not seem too clear on what precisely that entails.
What's the big difference between helping deliver letters and warning people about Catastrophes? They're both just passing on info.
More importantly, what kinda arsehole would I have to be to see the signs of a Catastrophe and not go tell the people in the way?
Right, since I'm usually following the burdenbeasts to keep an eye on the Catastrophe, sometimes I'll have to make a run for the city to warn them in time, even if the beasts haven't made it to safety yet. But even if I run, I still don't always make it in time... That's why I try to run faster than ever, little by little, so I can make it more often.
—HR audio log
[Addendum]
After hearing about this, several experienced Catastrophe Messengers expressed a desire to introduce Brigid to modern Catastrophe warning systems so she could perform her duties better than ever. They were quick to put their ideas into practice. Aside from sharing information with her, they decided to use their own wages to put together a set of basic Catastrophe forecasting equipment, giving it to her in Rhodes Island's name.
Although Brigid did ultimately refuse it, saying she'd find a way to pay for it herself, she was happy to accept their gift of a comms terminal of the same model commonly used by Catastrophe Messengers, becoming a part of their everyday group chat.

Wanted to borrow a map, seeing how I lost the one I drew.
What map? Y'know, a map, just point 'em out and I'll go find it myself.
Err... All these look real different from what I remember. Why's that?
The map I wanted... Lemme sketch for you it real quick—Oh, I want a 'map of Tara'? Let's have a look then...
Aye, that's the one! But we usually just call 'em maps, no Tara.

Due to often missing return deadlines, Operator Brigid will have to undergo a more detailed registration process whenever borrowing books or applying for extensions. Additionally, considering she borrows for a specific purpose and mostly only borrows from a single category of materials, and how some of these maps are the only surviving copies, we strongly suggest she use the photocopier in the future.
The photocopier's so slow! I'll return 'em next time I'm back! Brigid

1. A straw burdenbeast, 20cm x 16cm x 7cm, handmade. No suspicious liquids detected, shiny surface is due to burdenbeast oil.
2. A small piece of cheese, appears moldy. Testing confirms it is not moldy. The spots on its surface are where this type of cheese gets its characteristic flavor from.
3. A bone knife, clear traces of hand-polishing. Dull, can barely cut fruit.
4. Two medals, appear to be promotion medals issued by Rhodes Island HR. After further investigation, owner is already in our records as Brigid.
5. A glass bottle, height approx. 7cm, mouth diameter 3cm, filled with a clear liquid, labeled 'Dossoles'. Testing shows the liquid in the bottle is 100% artificial seawater, with some special method used to keep it clear with 0 precipitation or sediment.

11. A collection of anonymous Taran poems with a note attached. Note says: 'The grass here is different from other lands, while the sky here's bluer than yesterday's. All belongs to tomorrow, and tomorrow's always a brand new day, a day unlike any other.'
...Aside from a couple things, most of this stuff has to be taken out of your bags for the security inspection, then a second one if you want any of it to reach the Doctor's desk. You really not worried about all that hassle?

Brigid tries to pick up the tent toppled by wind, but finds that as soon as she tries to pick up one side, the other side falls over. Her hair is wet from the rain, which flows along her forehead and into her eyes. She fidgets at the uncomfortable sensation of her clothes being stuck to her skin. They are getting heavier, and colder. 'It's no good', she mutters, as she reluctantly lays down the canvas and sticks.
Brigid spreads open a map made from beast hide, running her finger over it to find the nearest shelter—a Catastrophe Messenger hut about two kilometers from her location, in the same direction as the wind. Perhaps she can make it if she runs? Fortunately, the burdenbeasts have been housed, and she only needs find a place for herself tonight.
'Run, Brigid, run. You can keep running if you do not find the hut, until you reach the town, or perhaps a little shed along the way that would provide shelter against the rain.' Then, she sees the faint silhouette of a house in the distance. She wipes the raindrops off her face and takes cover under the eaves. She knocks on the door, but there is no answer. There're knots signifying 'safety' hanging from the doors and windows. She touches them before going in.
No one has been here for a while. Even the knots at the door have grown hardened and pricked her hands. At least the roof is in good shape, keeping the wind and rain out. Brigid lays down her luggage, finds some wood to light a fire, and hangs a rope to dry her clothes. Finally, she puts all the dried fabric she can find in a bundle before the fireplace and huddles up with her hair still wet, slumbering away while the rain continues battering the windows.
The fire has gone out by the time she wakes up, but she feels no cold. She frees herself from the bundle of cloth and walks towards the windows. She notices that the knots she saw yesterday have been all blown away, some falling into the mud, and others flying quite a distance, hanging on the trees.
Before she leaves, she takes out some ropes from her luggage and ties two knots in the same fashion as the ones she found, hanging one at the door and the other at the windows.
'Thanks for the hospitality!'
It is bright and sunny outside. Looking back, she realizes that the hut is quite old and battered. She thanks the hut and looks up at the sky.
'Thank you wind, thank you rain, for taking it easy—'
A breeze sways the knots hanging in front of the windows, causing the chimes upon them to ring, perhaps in response, or perhaps in farewell.
