Gavial is a former mercenary, forced to leave home after contracting Oripathy and ultimately joining Rhodes Island after a period of instability.
Above-average in physical strength, destructive prowess and tactical skills, she nonetheless opted to be a combat medic.
Imaging tests for this Operator showed blurry outlines of internal organs with visible dark spots. Unusually high concentrations of Originium particles were present in her circulatory system, indicating infection and confirming her as Infected at this stage.

[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 15%
Minor infection, nothing to be concerned about!

[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.26u/L
I know my own body the best, of course. Rhodes Island's course of treatment has been effective in controlling and stabilizing the disease. However, physical performance has been affected considerably, down peak levels. Guess it's time to do some rehab...
—Gavial
Gavial is a doctor who defies all conventional definitions of the word, people assume she'd sooner smash someone's head in with her staff than use it to heal the sick.
She is straightforward, and it becomes clear she is a very dedicated physician only after frequent contact. Until then, she often has a lot of work to do to convince patients of her skills.
Generally will not let anyone touch her tail.
To most people, the Archosauria are a warrior race, all of whom are combat ready. Thus, a physician like Gavial is indeed a one-of-a-kind anomaly.
What's even more curious is that while she does possess the natural aptitude for healing that is so rare in an Archosaurian, that is not to say she should shy away from battle. Quite the opposite, her overall fighting prowess is rather remarkable. So why did she choose to become a healer? Fortunately, she doesn't mind elaborating on her past:
She was one of the most renowned warriors of her tribe, but once she realized she has the talent for healing Arts, she chose to save lives rather than end them.
...Yes, it was simple as that, just like Gavial. Even when she was ostracized and eventually exiled from her home, she's never wavered or regretted it.
How Gavial came to contract Oripathy, she explained it as succinctly as how she became a healer:
Ran into a mining area to save lives and got infected herself.
She speaks of getting ostracized by her kin for becoming a healer and the discrimination she faced due to her infection as if they were trivial matters.
She finds it fulfilling to be here at Rhodes Island, treating wounds and illnesses.
We all owe Gavial our respect, and should learn from her generous spirit.

A primer on receiving treatment, circulated in secret between Rhodes Island operators:
...that case, you're in luck. He'll fix you up and be gentle about it.
But if your primary doctor is Gavial, I have one piece of advice for you: don't try and be smart with her, just do exactly as she says. If you've been treated by Gavial before, you know what I'm talking about, and I know you know.
But seeing as this primer is aimed at giving all you adorable, blank-slate newbies some advice from the deep end of the pool, I want you to read what follows very carefully.
Firstly: no matter what rumors you've heard, don't be scared. Gavial is a professional medic who's qualified to practice. Her medical expertise is a genuine thing of envy aboard Rhodes. If she says she's going to treat you, but approaches you with tools that look extremely dangerous (including but not limited to hammers/drills/impact drivers), then stay where you are and do not move. There is a very high probability she IS coming to fix up your wounds. Of course, we can't rule out the scenario where she just seized a bunch of new toys from the enemy as spoils, and really wants to show them off to you, in which case you may express a suitable degree of admiration for her, BUT DO NOT GO TOO FAR, or she may beat you up.
Secondly: please, follow her medical instructions to the letter, 100%. Don't complain no matter how bitter the medicine she made you take, because she means well. If she's laid down strict dietary restrictions for you, you obey them perfectly, unless you have miracle Arts that let you hide what you've been eating from everyone forever, which you don't. She's a good doctor who takes great responsibility for her patients, and if she finds you refusing to follow instructions, the consequences will likely be Very Bad. The Rhodes Island Medical Department does not accept complaints about that.
Lastly: when you're wounded on the battlefield and need emergency aid, please report in to Gavial ASAP. Otherwise, she may run out of anesthetics, in which case she's exceedingly likely to prep you for treatment using a technique she personally innovated and dubbed 'kinetic anesthesia.' It's been appraised by Medical as 'tentatively safe, but patient experience has been relatively poor.'
This author has been a casualty of said technique, and can VERY responsibly report there's a little more to the experience than 'relatively poor.'
